The Alaska Carbon Reduction Fund (ACRF) facilitates no cost heat pump installations for low income families in coastal communities from Metlakatla to Kodiak. Households have to meet specific income and heating system requirements to be eligible. Available funding will meet the needs of installations on a first-come, first-serve basis. As part of the application process, Alaska Heat Smart will help applicants determine whether a heat pump system would be cost effective and a wise addition for their home through a home energy assessment.
Eligibility Requirements
- Applicants must own the home they are applying for.
- Households must be heated by oil, propane, natural gas, or wood.
- Household income must not exceed 80% of the applicant’s city area median income (AMI). The ACRF program uses the same AMI values as the AK Heat Smart ACES program. Find your community’s income limits here.
