Alaska Heat Smart Qualified Contractor List

The following contractors are licensed, insured, and certified to do heat pump installations and wirings. You are not required to use a contractor from this list for your ACES heat pump installation. This list is intended to serve as a resource only.

We strongly encourage you to confirm that whatever contractor you select for your installation has the necessary certifications and experience to install your heat pump successfully. Alaska Heat Smart does not make recommendations regarding specific installers. This list will be frequently updated as additional contractors provide us with their qualifications. We hope to eventually include contractors from each community in the program area, but applicants do not need to wait for contractors from their community to be added to proceed. Requirements for Contractors

Visit our ACES Contractor Support page for additional information. To be included on the AHS Qualified Contractor List, contractors must submit the following to aces@akheatsmart.org:

  • Certificate of Insurance
  • State of Alaska Business License 
  • Specialty License
    1. Heat pump installers: Mechanical Administrator, General Contractor, Residential Contractor, or Handyman Contractor License 
    2. Electricians: Electrical Administrator License
  • EPA 608 Certification, Type II (heat pump installers only) 
  • Affirm that they have installed/wired 20+ heat pumps in the past 5 years
    • Include two references that can attest to successful installations

AHS is aware that list includes contractors that are not verified to adhere to the Davis Bacon Act. This list is for suggestive purposes and is not comprehensive nor exhaustive. Participants in the ACES program must select and/ or provide their own contractor.
