Alaska Carbon Reduction Fund
Heat Pump Program

To be eligible for ACRF, households have to meet specific income and heating system requirements. Available funding will meet the needs of installations on a first-come, first-serve basis. As part of the application process, Alaska Heat Smart will help applicants determine whether a heat pump system would be cost effective and a wise addition for their home through a home energy assessment.

Eligibility

Eligibility

ACRF is paired with the ACES program, when possible, to allow funds to be spread between more households. Below are the eligibility requirements for ACRF. If a household qualifies for ACRF, they will likely be eligible for ACES as well.

  • Applicants must own the home they are applying for.
  • Households must be heated by oil, propane, natural gas, or wood.
    • Households with broken fuel systems who have no back-up heat source or are using plug-in space heaters can qualify for the program.
  • Household income must not exceed 80% of the applicant’s city area median income (AMI). The ACRF program uses the same AMI values as the Alaska Heat Smart (AHS) ACES program. Find your community’s income limits here.
